Welcome to the Econeth Developer Handbook!

This manual will take you step-by-step through all the stages of your project, from the initial phase regarding the shipment to managing communications with your supporters.
Here, you will be able to realize your dream of creating something innovative, with the support of a community of passionate people who cheer for you.
Econeth represents the birth of something new. We're glad you're here, and we're very excited to help you on your journey.

How to start

Your project can take the shape you want and you can share it with the community. It could be a video game, a board game, or a technological product, in short, whatever you have in mind can become reality through Econeth. With a well-defined idea and a precise goal, you have a very good chance of success.
In order for a project to be published on Kickstarter, some fundamental requirements must be met:

  1. Create a project page where you can clearly explain the idea and the story behind your project, through an explanatory video and a good description.
  2. Offer rewards to supporters who have helped you with your project when it is completed.
  3. Constantly update your co-workers on any progress you are making.
  4. We will go through these elements step by step, starting with the project page, where you will be able to show your creativity.

Create a Storytelling

If you want your project page to be simple and clear, your project should be as well. If your project is more complex, share the details to demonstrate your expertise. However, no matter what your project idea is, there are some basic questions you need to address:

Who are you?
Introduce yourself, introduce your team, and show examples of similar work you've completed.

What do you want to accomplish?
Provide as much information as possible, including sketches, samples, and prototypes—anything that can help backers get excited about your idea.

How did you come up with the idea for the project?
Explain how you developed your idea and what you have achieved so far. Sharing your project story will help others understand your work and how you are doing it.

What is your project plan and timeline?
Provide a clear and specific path so supporters know what to expect.

What's your budget?
A simple expense breakdown helps users understand that you've put a lot of thought into your idea and have a plan to execute it wisely.

Why this project?
Explain what you are passionate about about your idea and why it is important to you.
Most of your storytelling can be conveyed through words, however, a good design page goes beyond just text. Images and videos play a vital role in making your story more engaging and engaging for your audience. They allow you to transport viewers directly into the reality of the facts you want to tell.

How to create rewards

Some rewards can be simple, like the ability to offer copies of a game to the developer. Others, such as behind-the-scenes souvenirs or personalized artwork, can help supporters feel more involved in the creative process.

When it comes to deciding what to offer as a reward for a project, it's important to consider the needs and wants of your community. What would be the rewards that would convince people to support your project? Offering creation options in various formats, such as digital downloads or limited editions, can be a good idea, as can including custom options or the ability to be a part of the creative process in some way.

To be effective, your project should include a selection of reward tiers for your supporters to choose from, as well as any bonus complements. For more ideas, you can check out our suggestions on 96 crowdfunding reward ideas.
Arrange your rewards and extras to fit your priorities and budget.

Financing

Econeth adopts an all-or-nothing approach to funding, in which funds are not raised if the project does not reach its goal. This guarantees a reduction in risk for the creators: for example, if only 5,000.00 Euros were raised in a campaign to shoot a film that required 50,000.00 Euros it would have been a failure.

Thanks to "all or nothing", supporters can be confident in contributing to your project, knowing that you will get what you promised. It is important to set a funding goal that is the minimum needed to get the job done and deliver the promised rewards. The first step in determining your goal is setting a budget.

Best Practices:

Make a list
Make a list of all your expenses, including less obvious costs like duct tape and bubble wrap. Search for the best price for the highest costs and calculate the total amount. Don't worry if the final number exceeds your expectations—even if your project seems simple, it's best to be sure to consider every aspect.

Evaluate the scope of your project.
Ecoenth is a great way to share your ideas with a new audience. However, much of the support will come from your main network and people most familiar with your work. Consider your target audience, from friends to fans and online communities, and carefully estimate how many followers you think you'll garner.

Expect a margin of safety.
If your project is successfully funded, Econeth charges a 5% fee and there are additional fees for payments as well. The tax situation varies by project and may affect your needs - learn more here. We advise you to set a safety margin for any unexpected costs or emergency situations.

Set an expiration date.
Your financing period can last from one to 90 days. Statistically, projects that last 30 days or less have a better chance of success. Shorter periods inspire confidence, motivate people to support you and allow you to choose the best time to publicize your project.

Promotion

Before proceeding to publish your project, it is important to plan a suitable promotion strategy. Understand early on how to get your idea out there once it's ready to launch. Preparing a solid backing plan before publication will give you a competitive edge and improve your project's chances of success in the long run.

Communicate with those who support you

Throughout the process, we will ask you to maintain constant contact with your supporters, keeping them informed of the progress of the project. You can do this through project updates.
These tools make up your project's blog and will help you keep your supporters' attention on what you're doing and encourage them to spread the word about your progress, just like they did in this project.
They don't just ask you about rewards, many of them have an interest in closely observing your work process. Don't disappoint their expectations, show them what you are capable of!

Keep your promises

Fulfillment of commitments (also known as fulfillment) involves executing the project and distributing rewards to supporters.
This is usually at the end of a successful Econeth campaign, however it requires planning that starts much earlier and requires careful budgeting and effective communication. Plus, it's a proven way to build trust between you and your supporters over the long term.

Do a careful search
Before publishing your project, think about what you are creating, how you will produce it and how you will get it into the hands of your supporters.
We advise you to carefully evaluate the alternatives to achieve your goal. Before publishing, it is advisable to consider whether you want to manage the project yourself or if you prefer to collaborate with someone who can provide you with support in the realization.

Plan
To ensure that you are able to deliver on your promises, it is important to plan your project carefully. Once you have completed the necessary research, you will need to draft a project, set the prizes and choose the funding goal.

Finalize
If your project is successfully funded, you will need to gather information about your supporters and confirm your plans after the campaign is over. Submit your backer reward questionnaires and start collecting shipping addresses – you can take your time until you're ready to ship your rewards. Get this information through the supporter report.
